1.
Clean your windows and floors. Kitchens and bathrooms should be
"sparkling."
2. Shampoo carpets, replace or get rid of worn
rugs.
3. Remove unnecessary clutter from display shelves
and tables. Less is better. Buyers can picture themselves in a house
with less personal items.
4. Too much furniture in too little a space makes
your home look small. Put some in storage.
5. De-clutter closets, pantries and garage. Tidy
storage spaces look larger.
6. Repair dripping faucets, running toilets and leaking
showers.
7.
Clean or replace grout in bathrooms.

8.
Most homes need interior and exterior painting. If the expense
is to great to repaint everything, tackle the worst areas with touch-up
paint. Fresh trim paint is often a huge improvement.
9. The buyers' first impression is a large factor
in their decision to buy a house. Clean or repaint your front door
and keep your porch and foyer clean and clutter free. Flowers are
a great touch both inside and out.
10. If finances permit, do a general pre-inspection
and termite inspection. Make major repairs if possible. Surprises
during the buyer's inspection could cost a sale. |
